welcome Jan Burke as their special guest for a discussion and signing of

her latest book, Bones.

The Orange County Regional Cancer Center will hold Kids, Inc., a peer

group for children ages 6-13 who have a parent, relative or loved one

with cancer, on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month from 6:30

to 8 p.m. at Living Care Center Cafeteria, 11250 Warner Ave., Fountain

Valley. The group, offered at the same time as the Young Adult Cancer

Support Group, will provide information and education in a supportive

setting. The program includes field trips, art therapy, story-telling

The Comprehensive Martial Arts and Wellness Center offers free

introductory t'ai chi ch'uan classes at 9 a.m. Saturdays at 17308 Beach

The Fountain Valley Branch Library needs videos for the community and

will hold a Gently-used Video Donation Drive through Oct. 31. Find those

once-exciting feature films, classics, musicals, children's and

educational videos that now collect dust, and bring them to 17635 Los

Alamos St., during library hours, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through

Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and

The city of Huntington Beach treats the public to free surf-side music by

an eclectic mix of performers at the Pier Plaza the third weekend of each

month at 2 p.m. Saturdays and noon Sundays. On Sundays, the Pier Plaza

Art-A-Faire features 50 vendors who specialize in arts and crafts from

fine art, jewelry, candles, handblown glass, and henna tattoos from 10

a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Huntington Beach International Surf Museum will feature the

exhibit "Reincarnation of Surf Boards" through January from noon to 5

p.m. daily at 411 Olive Ave. Local artists T.P. Mullin, Darrin Pappas and

Mike Roberts use old surfboards in their artwork. General admission is
