Marina is applying for $715,200, Huntington Beach High is applying for
$679,500, and Westminster wants $769,200 for the high-tech program.
The program was passed by the state Legislature in 1997 to encourage
computer literacy in students and faculty.
Grants offer eligible schools $300 per student for the initial
installation and $45 per student for three additional years, depending on
state budget appropriations.
All three schools' applications emphasize staff development, technology
integration and partnerships with business, parents and community.
Edison and Coast High Schools were awarded Digital High School grants for
the 1998-99 school year.
