Robinwood opens District play with two wins

Robinwood Little League's Junior Division All-Star team opened the

District 62 Tournament on a high note by winning two games within a three

day span.

Robinwood gained its second tournament win on Monday, beating

Westminster, 14-4, in a winner's bracket game halted after 5 1/2 innings

due to the Mercy Rule.

Robinwood began the tournament last Saturday with an 11-2 romp past

defending champion Ocean View. Winning pitcher Adam Dedeaux threw a

complete game victory, striking out 11 while limiting Ocean View to just

two hits.

Offensively, Dedeaux had one hit, walked twice, stole two bases, and

scored three runs. Also on offense, Danny Falkenstein doubled three

times, had two RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases, starting

catcher Eric Oviatt delivered two doubles and four RBI and also picked

off a runner at third base, and Eric Alcala cleared loaded bases with a

triple to the center field fence.

Fountain Valley pitchers Joel Kaluzny and Jordan Hargrave combined to

strike out seven and give up six hits in the win.
