College for Kids offers cartooning
Golden West College has scheduled two cartooning workshops as part of
its popular College for Kids series. The workshops, taught by art faculty
member Carl Glassford, are for children 8 to 14.
The classes will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and
Fridays through July 26 in Fine Arts Room 207.
Participants will learn basic cartoon drawing and how drawing facial
expressions and body language communicates the story line. Human, animal
and object characters will also be studied.
All work will be done on paper with pencil and felt-tip pens. Each
participant should bring typing paper, a pencil and a fine-point,
felt-tip pen to the first session.
