On Jan. 20, 2001, Lori Bates, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bates of
Huntington Beach, wed Chris Gardner of St. Louis, Mo. in an outdoor
ceremony in Temescal Canyon Gateway Park, Pacific Palisades. The service
was officiated by the Rev. Barbara Laughray and accompanied by harpist,
Margaret Klemm. Thirty family members enjoyed a champagne lunch cruise of
Newport Harbor, at a reception aboard the Cabaret Hornblower Yacht. Lori,
who grew up locally, has lived in Boston since graduating from Brooks
