The Environmental Board of the City of Huntington Beach is accepting

nominations for citizens and organizations who have made outstanding

efforts to preserve, protect and conserve the community's environmental

resources as well as educating the citizens on environmental matters. The

The Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce Small Business Assistance

Center offers individual counseling on virtually any aspect of your

small business. Sessions take place 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., every Friday.

SATURDAY

The newly formed Friends of the Shipley Nature Center invites new

members to join. The group meets every second Saturday of the month to

discuss restoration work on the Shipley Nature Center in Huntington Beach

Central Park. This month's meeting will take place at 9 a.m., May 11 in

Room E at the Huntington Beach Central Library, 7111 Talbert Ave.

The Huntington Beach Public Library presents "Celebrating Our

Community." There will be traditional Latin American music, dancing and

The Alzheimer's Assn. of Orange County will hold a support group for

adult children of Alzheimer's disease individuals. The group will begin

Friends In Service to Humanity, FISH, will host its fourth annual golf

tournament May 13 at the SeaCliff Country Club, 6501 Palm Ave. The price,

including the evening buffet, is $195. The buffet banquet alone is $40

The Huntington Beach Newcomers develops friendships and promotes
