The Core Tour, an extreme


sports competition, is back for another hair-raising year with BMX

bicyclists flying through the air, skateboard insanity and more at

the Huntington Beach Pier from Sept. 5 to 7. Information:

Pro/Junior Surf Series on the south side of the pier Sept. 5

through 7 will showcase young up-and-coming surfers as they battle

for waves and prize money. The event is United States Surfing

Enjoy "A Romantic Evening

in Central Park" with performer Bobby Lyle and special guests

Michael Lington, Paul Jackson Jr. and Jeff Robinson in the Huntington

Beach Smooth Jazz Festival, 7111 Talbert Ave. behind the Central

Cruisers, billed as the best free car show in the world, is a

15-year tradition that brings classic and hot rod car collectors,

known as the Donut Derelicts, to the parking lot near 9025 Adams

Surfin' Sundays presents

a free concert featuring Surf Report from 1 to 3 p.m. at the

Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum as part of its 2003

concert series featuring authentic surfing bands. The museum is at

The Pier Plaza Art A-Faire

Weekend will run from 10 a.m. to sunset Saturday and Sunday at the

outdoor Pier Plaza adjacent to the Huntington Beach Pier. The craft

fair features more than 50 vendors selling unique, handmade gifts and

crafts at Pacific Coast Highway at Main Street. Free admission.
