Huntington Beach native and rising ballet star Bryn Gilbert will make a special appearance at the Festival Ballet Theatre production of “Sleeping Beauty” at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Irvine Barclay Theatre, 4242 Campus Drive, Irvine. The company will also present a one-hour, narrated production designed for children ages 3 to 12 at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The production was choreographed and directed by the company’s Artistic Director, Salwa Rizkalla, and set to the music of Peter Tchaikovsky. It features fabled storybook favorites like Princess Aurora, Puss-in-Boots, Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf.
Tickets are $38 for adults and $33 for children, seniors and students. All seats to the one-hour, narrated family show at 2 p.m. Saturday are $20.
