In earlier action, Huntington Beach fell to El Toro, 17-8, on March 31. Jason Perez, Alec Ontiveros, Jason Smith, Aaron Chernus, Costin, Nemes, Jackson and Cyprus all scored goals. Costin led the way with five assists.

SOFTBALL
The big Woodbridge Softball Classic begins Saturday at Bill Barber Memorial Park and Edison, Marina, Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach will all be participating.
The first day of the tournament is pool play. Edison (8-3) opens against Orange Lutheran at 8 a.m. Saturday. Marina (10-2), ranked No. 7 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll, plays North Torrance at the same time.
Fountain Valley (6-5) tangles with host Woodbridge in its opener at 2:45 p.m., and Huntington Beach (4-6) battles Mission Viejo at 5 p.m.
All games are played at Bill Barber Memorial Park, and after the first day, Gold, Silver and Bronze divisions will be determined.
Quarterfinals are set for Monday, with the championship and consolation rounds set for April 18. The Gold division championship is at 7:15 p.m. April 18.

BASEBALL
?Senior Paul Strong’s no-hitter led Marina to a 3-0 win over Esperanza on April 2. The UC Irvine-bound Strong added seven strikeouts for the Vikings (10-2, 4-1 in Sunset League).
?The Ocean View High baseball team advanced to the fifth-place game of the OCNissan.com Select Invitational after edging Mira Costa, 8-7, on Tuesday.
In earlier action, the Seahawks (9-6) topped Valencia, 5-1, in the opening round before falling to Woodbridge, 2-1, in a tournament quarterfinal game.
Ocean View Coach Shane Borowski was happy with the play of his team, which he said really got going after a Golden West League win over first-place Westminster on April 2. Sophomore Alfredo Sepulveda had a three-hit shutout in that game.
“That really helped us out and started us up,” Borowski said. “We really rolled into this tournament. I’m really excited to start up league play again next week.”
