The South Huntington Beach Girls Fastpitch Softball 8-U Silver team is represented by Danielle Craft, Taylor Franklin, Marlene Friedman, Aly Fullbright, Emily Gray, Amanda Hadley, Scotty McGee, Mikaila Pancino, Ashley Papacosta, Sage Royston, Serena Starks and Sophia Woolsey. The team is led by head coach Kevin Craft and assistant coaches Van Starks, Mark Fullbright, Jim McGee and Eric Papacosta.

Minor B division
Hooks 5, Diamond Jaxx 4: It was another close game between these two teams. The Hooks hit their way to a win against the Diamond Jaxx. Besides a steal of home by the Hooks’ Sean Staley, the Hooks batted in four runs. Jacob Hathcock was three for three, Chandler Forth was two for three, and Sean Moore, Ben Quezada, Jet Kelly, Spencer Stanbridge and Sean Staley all brought the bat around with strong hits.
Pitchers from both teams meant business and pitched a strong game. Defensive fielding by the Hooks was dynamite. Jet Kelly robbed the Jaxx of a double with a fly-ball catch in left field. Peter Carlson fielded a key out at second base and catcher Ben Quezada stopped another crucial steal attempt at second base. Forth swiped up a hard grounder at first base for the final out.

Minor A division
Braves 9, White Sox 7: The Braves were ahead 5-2 and the White Sox came from behind to tie it 5-5. The game went into double overtime, each team scoring a run in the first overtime. In the second overtime, the Braves tied the score 6-6. With Jimmy Meehan next at bat, with two strikes on him, the crowd experienced something amazing as Meehan crushed a home run over the fence to left, right to where his dad was standing. With a runner on base, that home run ended the game with the Braves.
This was Meehan’s third home run of the season, highlighting a great effort by both teams. Dominic Celano of the Braves also hit a two-run homer in the first inning, his third of the season as well.
Minor B division
Diamondbacks 17, White Sox 12: On the Diamondbacks, Ryan Cook had a double and knocked in two RBIs. Mark Mays hit a triple with a RBI.
For the White Sox, Clayton Seck had a double with three RBIs and William Morton hit a double.
Diamondbacks 9, Angels 4: On the Diamondbacks, Josh McFarland and Jack Morrell pitched four scoreless innings. The Diamondbacks held the Angels to 4 runs based on fine defensive plays by Josh McFarland, Mark Mays, Jack Morrell and Ryan Cook.
