A dream has now become a reality for local environmentalists.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced Tuesday that the restoration of the Magnolia Marsh in Huntington Beach is one of 50 projects nationwide selected for funding as part of a federal economic stimulus package.
The administration announced during a press conference at the site that it will give $3.3 million for the project, funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The marsh is near the intersection of Magnolia Street and Pacific Coast Highway.
