The Ocean View Little League 9- and 10-year-old All-Star team has come a long way.
Now, one game is all that remains between Ocean View and the right to claim a Southern California championship.
Ocean View will face Rancho San Diego at 7 tonight at the Newmark Little League fields in San Bernardino. The winner of the South Sub-Division III title game moves on to play the North Sub-Division III champion in a best-of-three series beginning Saturday night.
The winner of that series can claim Southern California 9/10 supremacy; Little League Division III encompasses all of Southern California.
Ocean View could have clinched the Sub-Division title Wednesday night but fell to Rancho San Diego. The teams definitely are familiar; Ocean View previously defeated Rancho San Diego, 2-0, on Monday. Ocean View won that game behind shutout pitching from Nick Pratto (four innings), Hagen Danner (one inning) and Anthony Martinez (one inning).
