The Huntington Beach Planning Commission’s public hearing on the changes to the Downtown Specific Plan and its Environmental Impact Report will be at 6 p.m. tonight in Council Chambers at the Civic Center on Main Street.
The Downtown Specific Plan is a long-range planning document that dictates building and parking specifications and design guidelines. The plan is being updated to increase development over the next 20 years. The update would consolidate the downtown from 11 separate districts to seven.
If the Planning Commission approves the plan tonight, it will still have to go before the City Council. The plan is available on the city’s website.
