Kevin Sellars a 2008 graduate of Marina High School and Huntington Beach resident broke two individual records and one relay record at the NAIA swimming and diving championships in St Peters Missouri. Kevin is a sophomore at California Baptist University in Riverside and the son of Anthony and Terri sellars of Huntington Beach.
On the first day of competition Kevin swam to a 1st place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 1:49.44 breaking a record that has stood since 1992. That same evening, Sellars and his relay team broke the record in the 800 free relay with a time of 6:42.98, which was set last year by Sellars' and his Cal Baptist team. On day two he went even further smashing the record in the 400 IM with a time of 3:53.86 and breaking the longest standing record in the NAIA books held since 1983. On day three Kevin finished second in the mile with a time of 15:55.48.
