The student who was found with a suspicious-looking device that led to an evacuation at Huntington Beach High School on March 3 has been booked at Orange County Juvenile Hall.
According to Lt. Russell Reinhart of the Huntington Beach Police Department, the male student was booked on suspicion of possession of a facsimile of a bomb and making criminal threats. A residence in the 2400 block of Delaware Street was searched after the incident.
The student, whose name has not been released because he is a juvenile, was sent to the principal’s office about 9:30 a.m. March 3 after he was reported to have fireworks. Administrators found another device in his possession and contacted the police and Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
