A 10-year-old boy from Temecula is asking for more than $500,000 after he burned the bottom of his foot in a fire pit in Huntington Beach.
Chad Kanow, through his parents, filed a claim March 5 for an unknown amount. A claim in the precursor to a lawsuit.
Chad was at the beach near Brookhurst Street and Pacific Coast Highway, walking to the ocean when he stepped on a fire pit covered with sand at around 9:30 a.m. in September, according to the claim.
