The Huntington Beach police chief's daughter pleaded guilty June 9 to felony charges after stabbing her husband in the chest.
Jennifer Sue Small, 31, was charged with felony corporal injury on a spouse. Small, of Midway City, originally pleaded not guilty May 26 to that charge and felony assault with a deadly weapon.
The second charge was dismissed June 9, court records show.
"I felt that was the appropriate [charge] under the circumstance," Deputy Dist. Atty. Ted Burnett said.
Small was sentenced to 34 days in jail, three years of formal probation and ordered to pay restitution, which wasn't established, Burnett said.
