Local trio to be honored Tuesday
Men's champion Brett Simpson of Huntington Beach, Hurley founder and chairman Bob Hurley and Huntington Surf & Sport owner Aaron Pai will be honored at 6 p.m. Tuesday by the Huntington Beach City Council for their involvement with the U.S. Open of Surfing.
The event is at the City Council chambers at City Hall. Simpson, 25, won the men's division title for the second straight year. Huntington Surf & Sport hosted the Surfers' Hall of Fame induction ceremony Aug. 6.
Club water polo registration now open
Fall registration is open for Huntington Beach Water Polo Club. The club is open to beginning- to- advanced players and divisions are as follows: 10-and-Under Coed; 12U Girls, 12U Boys, 14U Girls, 14U Boys, 16U Girls, 16U Boys, 18U Girls and 18U Boys.

Lil' Sluggers instruction dates set
Lifeletics Baseball Instruction in Huntington Beach announced that it is offering a Lil' Sluggers Beginning Baseball Workout for local youth ages 4 to 7. The five-week training program, which will be held every Monday beginning Oct. 4 through Nov. 1, is designed as introductory instruction to build fundamentals.
