An 18-year-old who's alleging that a lifeguard truck hit her while she was lying on the beach wants to hold the city responsible.
Huntington Beach resident Miranda Sosa filed a claim Nov. 15 calling the city negligent after she was allegedly struck by the truck. A claim is the precursor to a lawsuit.
The claim is for an unspecified amount of more than $10,000.
Sosa was lying in the sand June 13 about 3:50 p.m. when the front left tire of a lifeguard truck hit her while making a U-turn on the beach, according to the claim.
