Locals earn All-CIF in girls' volleyball

Huntington Beach senior setter Jianna Bonami and Edison junior opposite Cassie Strickland have been named to the All-CIF Southern Section Girls' Volleyball Division 1AA Team. The local pair are among 12 players to make the team and among four Sunset League players on the squad.

Marina pitching clinic starts Monday

Marina High is hosting a pitching clinic starting Monday at the school's baseball fields. The clinic runs from 9 a.m. to noon daily through Wednesday. Participants will learn pitching mechanics, from holding runners to fielding.

HB High to host Youth Baseball Camp

Huntington Beach High will run its Youth Baseball Camp Dec. 27 to 30 at the school's playing fields. The camp is open to boys ages 9 to 14 at a cost of $115 per camper. Daily sessions run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Instruction will be given by the Oilers varsity coaching staff, with a few professional players slated to make guest appearances.

The Huntington Beach baseball team was a 2009 CIF baseball finalist.
