SATURDAY: The third annual SALSA (Surfers Against Lou Gehrig's Disease Surfing Alliance) surf competition comes to the south side of the Huntington Beach Pier. The event, put on by former Edison High student Catherine Vasquez, benefits the ALS Assn and starts at 7 a.m. Entry fee is $40 and divisions range from beginners 14 and under to seniors 40 and older.
