I believe you underestimate the intelligence of your readers.
Your article on Maria Khani leading the prayer for the Huntington Beach City Council discusses the "killing of an extremist" ("Showing 'the face of Islam,'" May 12). Why not say the killing of Osama bin Laden, a notorious terrorist who was responsible for the plot to kill 3,000 Americans on Sept. 11, 2001? Let's call him what he was and remember the United States spent millions of dollars and 10 years hunting him down to kill him and rid the world of him. The execution of this mission was brilliant.
Khani goes to say "when the incident happened." This was an incident? I don't think so. It was more a massive killing of innocent Americans on our soil, which we vowed to resolve no matter how long it would take, and we did. If Khani thinks this was an incident, I would hope she would not be leading prayers for our City Council in the future.
