The arraignment of a Huntington Beach man accused of punching a man who is now on life support has been continued to Aug. 5.
Oscar Raul Medina-Perez, 24, originally scheduled to be arraigned July 15, is charged with one felony count of battery with serious injury, according to the Orange County District Attorney. If convicted, Medina-Perez could face a maximum sentence of four years in state prison.
While at La Barca Night Club in Stanton on July 5, Medina-Perez is accused of getting into a verbal altercation with Leovardo Vera Bustos, 24, in front of the nightclub, prosecutors said. A security guard stood between the two men, but the argument escalated and Medina-Perez punched Bustos in the face, according to prosecutors.
