Edison scored twice before Baldwin got off its first offensive play. The Chargers led, 14-0, after one quarter and were up, 28-10, at halftime.
"It was nice to jump out and jump on them early," Edison Coach Dave White said. "We started out slowly and on defense we were a little shaky with out tackling. I also thought we got a little bit lax in the second quarter.
"This was a good test for us. They (Baldwin) are a pretty physical team and have a few big players, but I don't think they've seen a passing attack like ours. Everybody got to play and that's always great to see. Overall, it was a good trip."
Edison returns to action Sept. 8 against Garfield of Los Angeles at Huntington Beach High.
Fountain Valley quarterback Joshiah Fernandez threw touchdowns to Brian Brown (61 yards) and Jacob Church (11 yards) and also rushed for two other scores in the Barons' win over Green Valley.
Mason Clevenger and Sean Myers both scored rushing touchdowns, Derek Huynen hit a 47-yard field goal and Jordan Platt scored on fumble return.
Fountain Valley is idle this week and resumes play Sept. 8 hosting San Clemente at Westminster High.
