Huntington Beach Councilman Devin Dwyer has announced his intention to run for reelection next year.
Dwyer, 48, planned to kick off his 2012 campaign Wednesday at King's Fish House in Bella Terra.
"I'd like to continue what I'm doing," he said. "I'm working hard for Huntington Beach and want to see some things completed."
Dwyer will be the only incumbent in the race. Councilman Keith Bohr will be termed out next year.
Dwyer, who came on board in 2008, said he wants to see the city fix and maintain its infrastructure on a regular basis, and reform pensions.
So far five candidates, including Dwyer, have filed with the City Clerk's office their intention to run for the council.
Planning Commissioners Blair Farley, who ran in 2010, and Tim Ryan are among those who filed.
Realtor Bruce Brandt, a retired Boeing executive and Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Jim Katapodis have also filed their intentions to run. They ran unsuccessfully during the last election.
