Paddleout scheduled to remember Sean Collins

A memorial paddleout has been scheduled for Sean Collins, the surfline.com founder who died of a heart attack this week.

FOR THE RECORD: The paddleout for Sean Collins has been rescheduled to 11 a.m. Jan. 8.

The paddleout is scheduled for 11 a.m. Jan. 7 by the Huntington Beach Pier, according to a Facebook event page. The page encourages participants to bring flowers and leis to throw into the ocean in Collins' memory.

Surfline.com also posted a notice asking for donations to be sent to a charitable fund in lieu of flowers. The Sean Collins Surfline Charitable Fund, which the company said covers "various charitable causes Sean would support," can be reached at 300 Pacific Coast Hwy., Suite 310, Huntington Beach, CA, 92648.
