The championship race in both boys' and girls' Sunset League soccer went down to the final week of the season last week, and in the end it was Marina and Edison that claimed titles.

Marina won the boys' title after playing Edison to a scoreless tie Feb. 8. A day later, Edison took the girls' title by winning, 2-1, at Los Alamitos in a showdown that determined the champion. The triumph allowed the Chargers to repeat as Sunset champion.

Audrey Minar scored Edison's first goal and Kelsey Wetzstein provided the Chargers with the winning goal with 10 minutes remaining. It was the second game-winning goal posted by Wetzstein last week. Her goal against Marina on Feb. 7 was the difference in a 3-2 victory. Wetzstein also had two assists in the Chargers final two league games.
