"Our girls are very focused as we head into the playoffs," Edison Coach Diggy Riley said. " "The coaching staff has been talking to them about the need for the girls to play with a sense of urgency, as well as with a ton of passion and intensity from start to finish."

Edison, 16-11 and ranked seventh in Division 1, traveled north Wednesday for a first-round match at sixth-ranked Santa Barbara. The score wasn't available at press time.

Villa Park (Century No. 3) outscored Huntington, 3-1, in the fourth quarter, to pull out a 9-8 win. Ellen Hayami scored three goals and had an assist and Samantha Preston scored twice for the ninth-ranked Oilers, an at-large entry to the playoffs who finished the year 20-9.
