Ocean View Little League

The Orioles staged a fifth-inning rally in Majors Division play that led them to a 10-8 victory over the Rangers.

The Orioles started the scoring when Landen Hill singled and later scored, and teammates Brad Monroe, Kelan Long and Jake Volo also scored. Monroe struck out five over the first two innings to keep the Rangers scoreless. The Rangers powered back in the third inning with four singles that led to a 5-4 lead. The Orioles took the lead back when Monroe scored and a run-scoring single by Grant Brehm drove in Long.

The Rangers again took the lead in the top of the fifth by scoring three runs. In the bottom half of the inning, Ryan Welander and Nick Daniels both singled before Seth Knorr singled home Welander. Daniels and Knorr both scored on passed balls and Monroe finished the Orioles' comeback with a run-scoring triple that scored Jacob Bonillas.


Orioles 5, Cardinals 4: The Orioles fell behind the Cardinals but battled back to pick up another victory.

The Cardinals took a 2-0 first-inning lead when Zeke Ziegler scored on a passed ball and Cory Nicholson picked up a run batted in. In the third inning, Danny Duarte and Jake Volvo both doubled, with Volvo's hit scoring Duarte for the Orioles' first run. In the bottom of the third, Jason Roe doubled, Chase Stewart singled and Roe scored.

In the top of the fourth, Grant Brehm and Ryan Welander singled and both scored on a triple by Elijah Blake.

The Cardinals struck for one more run in the sixth when Roe doubled for the second time in the game and scored on a double by Ziegler.

Juniors Division

Seaview 15, Ocean View Cardinals 13: Seaview took command of the game by scoring 12 runs in the fifth inning and then held off a comeback attempt by the Cardinals. Highlights for the Cardinals included a leaping catch by second baseman Nathan Crocker that resulted in a double play in the fourth inning.

Minor A Division

Mud Hens 7, Knights 2: The Mud Hens came out swinging Saturday and defeated the Knights.

Both Thomas Williams and Zack Pratte hit triples early in the game that led to the Mud Hens taking a 5-0 lead by the top of the third inning. The Knights scored the next two runs, but defensive plays by Zander Fletcher and Bruno Stenzel prevented any further scoring. Paul Crocker stole home in the fourth inning to push the Mud Hens' lead to 6-2. Solid pitching from Jag Burden, Chance DiMarco and Williams, stopped the Knights.
