Dinner Radio Theater

The Hula Hayride concert series continues with a benefit show for Life Rolls On, a subsidiary of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, at Don the Beachcomber, 16278 Pacific Coast Hwy., Huntington Beach. The show, formatted like a live radio variety show from the 1950s, features the Road Kill Kings, Cowboy Jack, Kerry Getz, Alice Wallace and other roots-oriented performers. Harold Chapman Exhibit

Arts Academy Gala

The Huntington Beach Union High School District's Academy for the Performing Arts hosts its annual gala, "The Power of the Arts," at the Rose Center Theater, 14140 All American Way, Westminster. The evening starts with opportunity baskets and a no-host bar at 7 p.m.; a performance of dance, musical theater, instrumental music and pop music from the academy's performing ensembles begins at 7:45; an after party with the artistic team begins at 9. Peace Conference

Golden West College hosts its 2012 Peace Conference, a forum for students, educators, researchers, artists and community leaders, at the campus Student Center, 15744 Goldenwest St., Huntington Beach. The event includes breakfast and lunch and features workshops and dialogues centered around pacifist themes from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $15 for students in advance, $20 at the door; $25 for faculty and administration in advance, $30 at the door; and $45 general admission in advance, $50 at the door. Rock Documentary

"Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone," a documentary about the Los Angeles rock band, screens at the Coastline Community College Art Gallery, 10156 Adams Ave., Huntington Beach.
