The Orange County district attorney's office has declined to file charges against a man who allegedly displayed symptoms of alcohol consumption after his car overturned in Huntington Beach, injuring several passengers.
Huntington Beach Police Lt. Mitch O'Brien said Midway City resident Fidel Barrera, 22, has been released from custody. But he could be charged later based on the pending results of the toxicology report.
Police responded to the accident at 4:23 p.m. June 25 at Warner Avenue and Algonquin Street and found that the green 1999 Toyota 4-Runner had overturned several times, sustaining severe damage. Aside from Barrera, the driver, there were four other passengers in the car, O'Brien said.
