Ocean View won't repeat as Little League World Series champion after Huntington Valley beats its rival twice in District 62 play, including 8-3 in the championship game.

8/9 Division

Ocean View took the division championship Saturday by holding off Huntington Valley, 7-5.

Ocean View scored six runs in the first inning to take command. AJ Valle had three hits and drove in three runs. He homered in the opening inning and singled in both the third and fifth innings. Matthew Wilson pitched four shutout innings to get the win. He struck out six, walked one and didn't allow a hit.

Ocean View had advanced to the division final by defeating Huntington Valley, 6-4, on June 27.

Ocean View will battle District 68 at 4 p.m. Saturday in a Section 10 opener at Woodfield Park (Field 6) in Aliso Viejo.

Junior Division

In the Junior tournament Monday at Ocean View High, Ocean View handed Fountain Valley an 8-3 loss. The teams will play at 5:30 p.m. Thursday for the division title. The winner advances to take on District 46 at 10 a.m. July 14 in the Section 10 tournament at Ocean View High.
