Police support FBI arrest of gang member

The Huntington Beach Police Department assisted the FBI on July 10 with the arrest of an East Coast gang member, officials said.

David Andrea Jenkins, a South Carolina native and member of the United Blood Nation gang, which is also known as Bloods Street Gang, was arrested at a Chevron gas station near his residence in Huntington Beach, said FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller.

FBI agents from the Los Angeles office and Huntington Beach officers conducted Jenkins' arrest on behalf of the Columbia, S.C., FBI division, which is handling the case, Eimiller said.

A news release on the website of the Columbia FBI division said Jenkins, who also goes by the names Arma G or Dread, and others were arrested July 10 in California and South Carolina after being indicted on 134 counts of charges that include prostitution, sexual trafficking, tax fraud, robberies, narcotics and federal firearms violations.

The story was first reported by OCWeekly, which obtained a copy of the indictment.

Jenkins appeared in court after his arrest and was denied bail, Eimiller said. He remains in federal custody in Southern California. He has a hearing scheduled for Thursday, Eimiller said.
