A Fountain Valley man was arrested last week and charged with forcibly raping a 10-year-old girl, committing lewd acts against another girl the same age and possessing child pornography, according to a release from the Orange County district attorney's office.
Donald Roy Shipley, 71, faces multiple felony counts and one misdemeanor count as well as a sentencing enhancement allegation for committing a sexual offense against more than one victim. He faces a maximum of 40 years and eight months to life in state prison if convicted and is being held on $1-million bail, according to the release.
Shipley's arraignment was scheduled for Thursday at the West Justice Center in Westminster, but continued to Aug. 10.
According to the release, Shipley lived with an adult female and young female relative at the time of the alleged crimes. He is accused of raping the first girl in 2008 at his home when she came to visit his young relative.
