The Huntington Beach boys' water polo team, beset by injuries and illness, still had enough in the tank to take down visiting Servite, 12-8, in nonleague play Tuesday. Jovan Jeremic posted a game-high five goals, Matt Cook and Dillon Morely both scored three goals and goalie Alex Wolf played strong in the cage for the Oilers, who improved to 11-7.

Huntington returns to action Friday against Harvard/Westlake, the No. 8-ranked team in CIF Southern Section Division 1.

Edison went 2-3 in the past week at the South Coast Tournament. The Chargers scored wins over Tesoro and Granite Hills of San Diego. Their losses were to Santa Barbara and Dos Pueblos.

Returning starters Dane Estrella, Justin Harrison, Troy Oates and Alec Niederland led the Chargers throughout the tournament.

"The South Coast Tournament was arguably one of the deepest and toughest tournament I have seen in along time," Edison Coach Diggy Riley said. "All five game we played were against formidable opponents and it really challenged us mentally to be prepared throughout the weekend. Our boys competed, and being that the season for us is still so young, it was nice seeing the boys implement the strategies we have been working on in our practices."
