Blossom is doing just that, blossoming into the fun-loving girl nature intended.

Six weeks ago, a jogger discovered her tied to a tree near Newport's Back Bay and waited for animal control to rescue her. If left overnight, Blossom risked becoming prey for coyotes.

At the shelter, she received treatment for fleas and worms, then underwent surgery for an umbilical hernia while being spayed. However, even when wearing the protective cone for two weeks, she was eager for walks. Now lively and carefree, this 18-month-old terrier mix is happily wagging her tail again.

Blossom loves people, is curious about other dogs and is a quick learner. Her adoption fees are discounted 25% all week when you mention this announcement.

For more information, call (714) 536-8480 or visit http://www.ochumanesociety.com. Donations of long (24-by-30-inch) chain collars and sturdy leashes for large dogs are especially needed right now.
