Another defensive shutout, another victory. The Huntington Beach Green Chargers remained undefeated in the 2010 Pop Warner Football season Saturday by shutting down the Yorba Linda Wildcats, 19-0, in Jr. Pee Wee Division action. The teams, both hampered by 105-degree temperatures in Yorba Linda, came out slow but Huntington Beach (5-0) scored in the second quarter to break a scoreless tie. The game's first touchdown came on a 20-yard pass play from Griffin O'Connor to EJ Ginnis.

Eric Lo likes the direction his Huntington Beach Oilers are heading. Since opening the prep football season Sept. 10 with a loss to Corona del Mar, the Oilers have been impressive in their past two outings. First, they held down former Sea View League nemesis Foothill. Last week, they smothered an Aliso Viejo offense that possesses one of the top passing games in Orange County. With consecutive wins in the books, Lo is looking for his Oilers to continue that trend Friday when it hosts Westminster at 7 p.m. at Sheue Field.
