A Fountain Valley man charged with murdering his fiancee is scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning. Philip Ngoc Nguyen, 26, was indicted Tuesday on one felony count of murder with sentencing enhancements for the personal use of a firearm and the personal use of a firearm causing death, according to a release from the Orange County district attorney's office. Nguyen is charged with fatally shooting his fiancee, Uyennie Ton, on Feb. 25, 2011, during an argument over another woman with whom he was having a relationship.

The arraignment for a Huntington Beach City School District maintenance painter accused of possessing and distributing child pornography was continued to Jan. 31. Roger Scott Hewson, 51, of Fountain Valley, has been charged with one count of possession and control of child pornography and one count of distributing obscene matter, according to a news release from the Orange County district attorney's office. District Supt. Gregg Haulk said Friday that Hewson was put on unpaid leave after being arrested in November.

The arraignment of a Huntington Beach man accused of punching a man who is now on life support has been continued to Aug. 5. Oscar Raul Medina-Perez, 24, originally scheduled to be arraigned July 15, is charged with one felony count of battery with serious injury, according to the Orange County District Attorney. If convicted, Medina-Perez could face a maximum sentence of four years in state prison. While at La Barca Night Club in Stanton on July 5, Medina-Perez is accused of getting into a verbal altercation with Leovardo Vera Bustos, 24, in front of the nightclub, prosecutors said.

A Victorville man who allegedly recorded women changing in a Fountain Valley thrift store and while walking in public will be arraigned Monday, according to a statement from the Orange County district attorney's office. Scott Ruvolo, 56, is scheduled to be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. in the West Justice Center in Westminster. He is being charged with disorderly conduct of attempting to secretly film another and faces three months in jail if convicted. Fountain Valley police are continuing to seek additional victims who may have been unknowingly recorded while changing in a Salvation Army's dressing room this summer, according to a statement from police.

A Garden Grove man suspected in an attempted murder case was supposed to be arraigned today, but the arraignment was put off until January. A police investigation uncovered the identity of Shawn Michael Espinoza, 39, who is suspected of being the shooter in a attempted murder and robbery incident Dec. 2, officials said. He will be charged with one felony count each of attempted murder, use of a firearm, second-degree attempted murder and street terrorism, according to court documents.

A Huntington Beach man accused of killing his cousin and injuring two others while allegedly speeding down East Coast Highway is scheduled to be arraigned Friday. Luicci Nader, 19, is expected to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Friday at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana on felony vehicular manslaughter by unlawful manner of driving with gross negligence with a sentencing enhancement for causing great bodily injury. He faces a maximum sentence of six years in state prison if convicted on all charges.

The arraignment for a Mesa View Middle School teacher and her husband facing charges of having sexual relations with a 17-year-old boy has been postponed to June 2. Attorney John Drummond Barnett, who represents Gay Davidson-Shepard, asked for the delay so that Daniel Alma Shepard can find his own counsel. Barnett was representing both only for the May 19 hearing. Davidson-Shepard, who has been put on administrative leave, and Daniel Alma Shepard, a former teacher at Westminster High School, were arrested at their Huntington Beach home April 20. Shepard and Davidson-Shepard were both charged with multiple felony counts, including oral copulation of a minor, sodomy of a person younger than 18 and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A Huntington Beach man is expected to continue his arraignment today on suspicion of drinking and driving during a crash that killed the passenger. Vincente Garcia Ramirez, 23, will be charged with one felony count of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and one misdemeanor count of driving without a valid license, officials said. The charges hold a maximum sentence of four years in state prison. Ramirez is suspected of driving in Garden Grove after having several drinks at a bar and a house party about 2 a.m. Jan. 9, according to the Orange County district attorney’s office.

Authorities on Tuesday arrested a Fountain Valley man and former police officer who failed to show up to court Monday to be arraigned for more than 60 charges related to defrauding clients of his unlicensed private investigation business. Kevin Michael Sianez, 53, was arrested Tuesday, the same day officials issued a warrant for his arrest, and is being held in the Central Jail Complex in Santa Ana for $180,000 bail, according to Orange County Sheriff's Department's records. Sianez was supposed to be arraigned Monday, but never showed up. His arraignment has been rescheduled for Wednesday.

A man accused of killing a well-known Huntington Beach resident and injuring her boyfriend while under the influence is scheduled to be arraigned Monday, according to an Orange County district attorney's office news release. Tadashi Mizutani, 69, of Huntington Beach, is charged with vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated without gross negligence, driving under the influence causing bodily injury, driving with a blood alcohol content of .08% or more causing bodily injury and a sentencing enhancement for inflicting great bodily injury, according to the release.

A Huntington Beach resident is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on multiple counts of fraud, theft, money laundering and the 2008 stabbing death of a Santa Monica man. Daniel Edward Becerril II, 35, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of killing a financial investment client shortly after stealing about $550,000 from his investment accounts, said Santa Monica Police Sgt. Richard Lewis. Police began investigating Becerril after discovering the body of Alexander Merman, who worked as a Los Angeles Unified School District elementary school teacher.

A Fountain Valley man was one of 15 indicted by a grand jury Wednesday in an alleged drug trafficking ring, officials said today. Duy Nguyen, 22, is being held in custody and is expected to be arraigned Monday along with 14 others on drug trafficking charges in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. The charge holds a maximum of 20 years in federal prison. Nguyen was allegedly involved in the large-scale, San Gabriel Valley-based distribution of Ecstasy, according to the Department of Justice.
