A Mission Viejo man caught in a Craigslist sting soliciting a 13-year-old girl for sex pleaded guilty Tuesday to four felony charges. Howard Houchen Wang, 38, pleaded guilty to attempting lewd acts upon a child younger than 14, luring a child with the intent to commit a crime, meeting a minor to commit lewd conduct and exhibition of lewd material to a minor at the West Justice Center in Westminster, according to court records. Wang was sentenced to two years and eight months in state prison, according to records.

Huntington Beach police arrested a Santa Ana man last week after he allegedly tried to initiate a sexual relationship with a minor on Craigslist. Detectives, posing on the website as a 13-year-old girl, received lewd messages from 35-year-old Oscar Pinedo, according to a news release. Pinedo, who was told repeatedly of the girl's age, made arrangements to meet her with the intent of paying her to have sex with him, the release said. At about 7:30 p.m. Jan. 4, Pinedo drove to Huntington Beach to meet the girl, only to be arrested by detectives.

A registered sex offender was charged Monday with coming to Huntington Beach to have sex with a 13-year-old girl after being caught in a Craigslist sting. Anaheim resident David Bryan was charged with attempted lewd acts on a child, contacting a child with the intent to commit lewd acts and meeting a minor with intent to commit lewd acts. If convicted of all charges, Bryan faces a maximum sentence of five years in state prison. Police located Bryan through a sting operation in which an undercover detective posed as a 13-year-old girl online, Lt. Russell Reinhart said.

Three men from Fontana were arrested on suspicion of robbing a person near a coffee shop in Fountain Valley earlier in the month, according to Fountain Valley police. Daniel Molina, 19, Christopher Godinez, 20, and a male juvenile were taken into custody at a home in Fontana. Molina and Godinez were booked in Orange County Jail, and the teen was booked in Orange County Juvenile Hall. The three suspects were reported to have robbed the victim outside the Starbucks on the 9000 block of Warner Avenue on Nov. 11. The suspects posted an ad on Craigslist to sell a $400 Starbucks card for $200.

A Garden Grove man was sentenced to three years in state prison for arranging to meet an underage girl for sex through Craigslist, according to a statement from the Orange County district attorney's office. Carlton Earl Griner, 56, pleaded guilty Friday to contacting a child with intent to commit a lewd act, meeting a minor with intent to engage in lewd conduct and attempting a lewd act on a child under 14 years old, according to officials. Griner is also required to register as a lifetime sex offender in California for a conviction of child pornography in Iowa.

A Santa Ana man pleaded not guilty Friday to attempting to start a sexual relationship with a police officers posing as a 13-year-old girl on Craigslist. Oscar Zamora Pinedo, 35, is charged with one felony count each of contacting a minor with intent to commit a lewd act and arranging to meet a minor to commit a lewd act. He faces a maximum sentence of six years in state prison if convicted. Pinedo is in custody on $100,000 bail and scheduled for pretrial Feb. 24 at West Justice Center in Westminster.
