Golden West College's president has recommended not accepting a deal to build a Costco and student housing on school grounds, Coast Community College District officials said Thursday. Bryan will recommend the district’s board of trustees reject a three-way deal with the city and the discount retailer, according to a district news release. Reasons in his report include the size and scope of the project and the presence of high-tension power lines on the property, said district spokeswoman Martha Parham, who has read the executive summary of his report.
