The Mud Hens won an exciting game against the Iron Pigs on Saturday when Reilly Kells doubled in the winning run in the top of the sixth for a 9-7 victory in Ocean View Little League Minor A Division action. It was the second big hit of the game for Kells, who earlier tripled in the fourth. The Mud Hens took the lead in the top of the first when Thomas Williams tripled and scored on Kyle Roeder's single. Jag Burden doubled in a second run. The Iron Pigs rallied for three runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead, but a run-scoring double by Zander Fletcher in the second inning tied the score at 3. — Laurie Skorheim * River Cats 8, Muckdogs 2: The River Cats erupted for seven runs in the first three innings and went on to down the Muckdogs in Minor A play.

The Huntington Beach Water Polo Club boys' 10-and-Under team won its division Sunday at the O.C. Cup at Irvine High. Huntington defeated Kahuna of Irvine, 14-13, in Sunday's division final. The Huntington boys' 10U team is: Miles Simpson, Ethan Bettino, James Rozolis-Hill, Jacob Pyle, Brenden Tran, Randal Macias, Joshua Bowman, Charles Slutsky, Garrett Lee and Dayton-John Simpson. * Girls' Soccer India Tye, Teagan Wasserman and Mikayla Edwards, all from Huntington Beach, play for the Legends Futbol Club (Chino Hills)

A battle between undefeated Majors Division teams came down to the final inning Saturday, and it was the Costa Mesa National Tigers who emerged with a 13-9 victory over the Fountain Valley Twins in Fountain Valley Little League action at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley. Jake Bitzer hit the first Tigers pitch over the center-field fence for a home run and led the Twins' attack with a double, walk and three runs scored. Luke Wells went two for three, Luke Arnold had two runs batted in and Luke Logan had a two-run double.

An undefeated run over a three-day period by the Huntington Beach Water Polo Club boys' Under-10 team ended with a divisional championship at the San Diego County Cup. Huntington went 6-0 at the tournament, which started Friday and concluded Sunday. It scored wins over Commerce (8-1), Foothill (7-2), SoCal (9-2), 680 Divers of Northern California (5-0), Laguna Beach (3-1), and in the title game secured a 5-3 overtime win over 680 Divers. The boys' U10 team, which has won three tournament titles this season, is: Jacob Pyle, Ethan Bettino, Josh Bowman, Dane Howell, Garrett Lee, Randal Macias, James Rozolis-Hill, DJ Simpson, Myles Simpson, Charles Slutsky and Brennis Lidecis.

In a back-and-forth Majors Division game, the Orioles scored the winning run in the sixth inning to pull out a 5-4 victory over the Angels in Ocean View Little League action. The Angels pulled into a 4-4 tie after Jacob Hathcock scored, but Nick Daniel doubled and went on to score the decisive run for the Orioles. The Orioles were up early, 1-0, but the Angels used singles by Jack Pelc, Ken Takada, Chandler Forth and Matt Maloney to build a 3-1 lead. The Orioles tied the score in the third inning behind singles by Danny Duarte, Jacob Bonillas and Brad Monroe, then took the lead in the fourth on a single by Ryan Welander, who went on to score on a triple by Kyle Newman.

The Orioles earned two victories in Ocean View Little League action last week by knocking off the Giants and Rangers. Big hits by Dash Hill, Brad Monroe and KJ Long gave the Orioles two early runs, but they had to rally to defeat the Giants, 5-4, on April 25. Hill tripled, Monroe homered and Long also tripled, which led to their first two runs. The Orioles previously scored an 8-4 win over the Rangers. Long had two RBI singles, Seth Knorr had a run-scoring single and Jake Volo had a two-run double and two-run, inside-the-park home run. The Rangers scored their four runs in the fourth behind a double by Ian Cook, single by Danny Smith and a double by Hunter Baclig.

Ocean View Little League The Orioles staged a fifth-inning rally in Majors Division play that led them to a 10-8 victory over the Rangers. The Orioles started the scoring when Landen Hill singled and later scored, and teammates Brad Monroe, Kelan Long and Jake Volo also scored. Monroe struck out five over the first two innings to keep the Rangers scoreless. The Rangers powered back in the third inning with four singles that led to a 5-4 lead. The Orioles took the lead back when Monroe scored and a run-scoring single by Grant Brehm drove in Long.

In Minor A Division action, Joe Yost hit a grand slam to help power the Bulldogs past the Titans, 14-5. * Ocean View Little League Majors Division Orioles 5, Rockies 4: Elijah Blake hit a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth to put the Orioles into the lead for good March 19. The Rockies took a 4-2 lead into the bottom of the fifth, where Brad Monroe started the Orioles' rally with a double.
