With three players scoring multiple goals and an early scoring blitz resulting in a comfortable lead, the Young Americans skated past the Renegades, 9-3, in Smythe Division play at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. Austin Mellema led the scoring with three goals followed by Andrew Schenker and Jonah Perez who had two goals apiece. Savannah Patton and Cannon Kunichika each scored once. Schenker, Patton, Kunichika, Mellema, Tyler Wilford and Nathan May all had assists.

Jonathan Blunda scored two goals and the Renegades moved into sole possession of the Wales Division lead by beating the Goonies, 4-1, in weekend action at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. John Moore and Ryan Turchi each also scored once and Mike Blunda, Andy Cook, and James Dufour all had an assist as the Renegades improved to 3-1. Jamie Dyke scored for the Goonies (1-2). In other games: Sting Rays 4, Dragons 4 Sergei Sedykin scored once with an assist and Andrew Lee, Nicholas Brodie, and Brett Martin each scored once as the Sting Rays (2-1-1)

Team USA, which was mired in a four-match winless steak, surprised the Howe Division-leading Renegades Wednesday, scoring a 7-5 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. Tanner Marsey scored three goals to lead Team USA, which picked up just its second win in eight matches to improve to 2-5-1. Marsey now has 24 goals on the season. Single goals also went to Ryan Boyce, Chad Kelleher, Kelly Kelleher, and Joshua Laurel, while Boyce and Chad Kelleher each handed out two assists, to complete the Team USA attack.

Ian Arnold recorded 38 saves and the Renegades came up with just enough offense to score a 3-1 victory over the Big Dogs in a Norris Division game at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. Arnold gave up a first period goal to Craig Wellander, but then he and the defense shut down the Big Dogs the remainder of the match. Renegades goals came from Brandon White, Austin Anderson and Lauren Kilroy. Troy Loggins had 32 saves for the Big Dogs.

The Crunch won a tight contest from the Renegades by outscoring their Lemieux Division rival, 3-1 in the fourth quarter, to earn a 6-4 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. Chaz Grant scored off an Alan Hodge assist at the 9:22 mark of the final period to break a 4-4 tie, and Jessen Zimmerman added an insurance goal with 8:44 to play. Zimmerman also scored single goals in each of the first two periods, Michael Delgleize and Hodge each scored once, and Delgleize and Christopher Emerson each added an assist to complete the Crunch's offense.

Jonathan Blunda scored two goals and the Renegades collected their third consecutive Wales Division victory Friday, beating the Sting Rays, 3-2, at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. James Dufour scored the other Renegade goal and Nick Belanger picked up an assist as the winners ran their division-leading ledger to 3-1. Blunda leads the Renegades with nine goals scored. Brett Martin scored both goals and Steven Siglin and Nicholas Brodie each had an assist for the Sting Rays, who had a two-game win streak snapped.

Trevor Millikan scored unassisted in the overtime shootout period to lift the Crusaders past the Phantoms 3-2 in Smythe Division action at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. Millikan also assisted on his team's first goal, a second period score by Bryce King. Kyle Macnew scored off a Chase Pearce feed and Joseph Baltazar recorded 28 saves for the Crusaders. Max McDaniel scored both goals for the Phantoms, Kyle Haymond and Sydney Russakov each had an assist and William Baltazar finished with 29 saves.

The Jackals ran their unbeaten streak to six games Wednesday by beating You Ain't Hurt, 5-1, in a Wales Division match played at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. Ryan Ratelle and Vartan Tchekmedyian each scored two goals as the Jackals improved to 5-1-2 overall. Others in on the five-goal output included Ryan Turchi with a goal and assist while Tony Derleth and Sergei Sedykin each had an assist. You Ain't Hurt's lone goal came off the stick of Derek Huffman, who scored unassisted.

A six-goal second period combined with a balanced scoring attack enabled the Terminators to squeeze past the Pythons, 9-5, in Smythe Division action at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. The balanced scoring effort saw Cullen Coker, Kyle Finney, Slater Ott and Zachary Harriman all score twice, Marcus Kurth get a goal and an assist and Finney add an assist. David Stone got the win on 12 saves. Kyle Haymond scored twice and had an assist, and Kyle Farinella scored twice for the Pythons.

The Crusaders scored the last nine goals of their game against the Phantoms and rolled to a 12-2 Smythe Division triumph at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. Five players got into the scoring act, led by Trevor Millikan's four goals. Trevor Scott added three goals, Andrew Jimenez scored twice and Bryce King, Chase Pearce and Chas Scott each scored once. Trevor Scott also had all four assists for the Crusaders. Joseph Baltazar recorded 13 saves in the victory.

HOCKEY Jake Gealy?s goal with 18 seconds to play clinched a victory Monday in Smythe Division play for the Ducks, who defeated the Kings, 6-4, at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. Gealy led the Ducks with three goals and an assist. Jack McKeown scored twice and Cameron Graichen once. Casey Taylor and Mitchell Hodges each had an assist. Tyler Gealy recorded 17 saves. Tyler McLuckey, Julia Wong, Kirsten Schaefer and Joseph Loya scored for the Kings.

The Blackhawks picked up another victory in Smythe Division play Monday by defeating Dry Ice, 3-2, at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. Andrew Armstrong opened and closed the scoring for the Blackhawks, who never trailed. Kevin Ozeretny scored the other Blackhawks goal and Alexander Taros, Nicholas Thompson and Ryan Sprague each had an assist. Jesse Mellema registered 26 saves. Aaron Maccabi had a goal and assist for Dry Ice. Alex Buyan also scored, and Colin Reyes had an assist.

The Blue Diamonds led all the way in their Smythe Division match with the Renegades and went on to post a 7-1 victory Monday at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. Paul Wirth scored three of the Blue Diamonds' seven goals and Austin Salisbury scored twice. Lukas Welinder and Nicholas Ashworth also scored. Conner Reeves topped the team in assists with two and Welinder and Spencer Reeves each had one. Austin Mellema scored on an assist from Stuart Urbano and Sam Prizler had 20 saves for the Renegades.

Inline hockey team overwhelms the Swarm to finish the season at the top of Smythe Division.The Renegades blistered the nets for seven goals over the final two periods in their Smythe Division championship showdown with the Swarm, rolling to a 10-2 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. Chase Lipscomb, Christopher Kao, Joshua Fowler and Dacha Dongrid each scored two goals to lead the Renegades in scoring. Single goals were scored by Jason Saenz and Aron Wong.

Alan Plummer blasted a game-best eight goals to lead the Flyers past the Renegades, 11-5, in Smythe Division action at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. Austin Gearty and Troy Baljeu scored the other two goals for the Flyers. Brandon Reitz recorded 15 saves for the win. Joshua Fowler led the Renegades with three goals, and Jayce Borski had 18 saves.

The Renegades outscored the Predators, 2-0, in an overtime shootout session and went on to record an 8-6 Wales Division victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach. Matt Korn and Blake Jirges each scored in the overtime period, Korn's goal coming off a James Newman assist. Korn's third period goal had brought the Renegades into a 6-6 tie. Newman also scored once and Anthony Thompson tied for team-high scoring honors with Korn with two goals.

Each also broke into the assist column, finishing with a pair of assists. Casey Childers also scored and Ben Piontkowski had an assist. Timothy Francis recorded 22 saves in goal for the Diablos. In other Wales Division matches: Predators 6, Thunder 2 Andrew Skowron scored three goals and assisted on two other scores to lead the Predators.
